International head wrap day!

November 20th, was recently coined international head wrap day. This year many excited participants wore their head wraps to commemorate this day in a befitting way.

We, at Afrokulcha, love headwraps! Head wraps are an identity of an authentic african woman. For many years, African women have been wearing headwraps either to show culture / respect tradition or just to cover their hair from a bad hair day. Nonetheless, African women have looked beautiful in many creations and styles of wrapping.

To embrace this day, we asked our clients to send us pictures of their head wraps on 20th November 2015. Here is what we received:

Nompumelelo Phumelela (pictured with African map) won the Afrokulcha head wrap day challenge for her creativity.  She received a gift from the Afrokulcha collection.
Well done!!
